In Honor of The Tudors

I have to tell you. I am a real History lover. I dual majored in History and Art History. Books about history are my favorites. I also like historical fiction. I appreciated real history woven into the story. I am not sure if it is because I am envious of the author doing the research in a beautiful library or what.

Genealogy is one of my hobbies and many lines I have gone back to the 1600's and some lines I have got back even further. I have found that I have ancestors from all over. Many of my people came over on the Mayflower, and a few years after it. I am going to print my ancestry tree, and do some comparisons. I am digressing...

This coat of arms is from the Cleves Family. Anne of Cleves was once married to Henry the 8Th. She was the fourth wife of Henry, and did not fight to stayed married to Henry when it was apparent that it was not going to be a happy marriage. Here we see the sun in the middle of the family coat of arms.

  1. How interesting, you have ties back to the Mayflower, I know my sister did plenty of research on our family but I don't think we have a Mayflower connection. That would make an interesting post!

  2. I do have a post about it over at my "main" site It means land of the sun.

  3. Hi, Thank you for your comment. I love reading about the time of Henry the 8th. A very complacated time. Very interesting.
    Keep warm. Thanks for visiting.

  4. Boy, you really are a history lover! The colors are beautiful on this coat of arms. Very interesting history lesson to go with it. Thank you.

  5. What an interesting post. Wish I knew more about my history. Thanks for visitng. Enjoy your holidays!
